So just to keep everyone updated on the progress of the herbs growing in the AeroGarden that we purchased and posted about previously, I thought I would write a post. Everything has been in the AeroGarden for 14 days now and everything is growing aside from the curly parsley at the moment, with all the herbs at slightly different stages of growth. Here is the complete AeroGarden growth update for you to see.
So far we have removed three of the greenhouse domes over the following herbs; Genovese Basil, Thai Basil, and Thyme. All of the cups, except the mint, had a large amount of condensation for the first number of days until we started pulling the greenhouse domes off.
The first dome removed was on the Genovese Basil, which so far, seems to have the most sprouted seeds and is growing the quickest. The second dome removed was on the Thai Basil, slightly too late due to the inability to see through the condensation on the domes. The late removal of the dome seems to have caused a little bit of scorching on the top leaves of the Thai Basil, but they have been coming back to life over the last couple of days. The third dome that covered the Thyme, I caught just as it started touching, and with the dome removed the Thyme is looking slightly sparse but hopefully, it will fill in with time. The Dill, Curly Parsley, and Mint still have the domes on and will be removed, hopefully, within a couple days. The Mint and Dill both have visible sprouts, unfortunately, the curly parsley isn’t showing anything yet.
I have not as of yet had to add any water to the AeroGarden, and tomorrow I will have to add nutrients. The nutrients have to be added every 14 days, I will see how long the bottle that was sent with the AeroGarden will last. You are only required to add a cap full of nutrients when re-adding them to the water so it seems it may last the whole season.
I will update all of you when we are able to remove the rest of the domes. Thank you for reading the first AeroGarden growth update, we will have more coming soon!
